If you're dealing with stains or mildew, mix 1 cup of bleach with 1/4 cup mild soap and 1 gallon of clean water. Scrub the problem area with a sponge or soft brush and then rinse. Let the fabric dry fully before use. Many fabrics come pre-treated to resist dirt and stains.
